Yes. We have all required licensing and permits to operate in the city of Grant as well as the state of Minnesota. We meet all safety and health code requirements.
We require 10-25% down of your venue fee reserves your date. We are always willing to work with you on a payment plan.
The first weekend in May till end of October. We are open all day only on Fridays and Saturdays for Events. We can do luncheons and business meetings during the week.
We have a maximum capacity of 240 guests.
Tours are by appointment. Contact Us to schedule your tour day and tie.
The red barn is approximately 4700 square feet. The main level still has the original wood floors and barn doors. Our second level loft has exposed wood trusses and hand-milled pine walls.
Yes, we have running water and awesome bathrooms. We have plenty of outlets throughout the barn.
Yes! We have a large lighted parking lot with ample parking for your guests. Handicap guests have available parking next to the barn for easy access. You will be provided with a parking lot attendant whom will help direct traffic into the farm and parking lot. This will ensure all vehicles are parked efficiently and allow for all guests have to have a spot.
Yes! We work with a number of nearby hotels offering discounted rates. Hotel shuttles are also available making your wedding safe and trouble-free for all guests.
Attire should be chosen based on the formality of the invitation you received. Some events are more casual than others. Also, as most ceremonies and/or social hours are held outdoors, be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. The most important factor is SHOES! We would highly recommend not wearing spike heels. Wedges, flats, boots, etc. work better on the multiple surfaces at the property. The outdoor spaces are grass, gravel and pavers, while inside the barn is the original wood plank floor.
We provide tables and chairs for up to 240 guests. Reception seating is Natural Wooden Kestell Chairs with an ivory seat cushion. Ceremony seating is white deluxe folding chairs.
No! Our set-up crew will arrange the tables and chairs per a customized layout that we create for you. We also take them down. This is includes your ceremony too.
Ride in comfort! We have a very nice golf cart that can be used all day to chauffeur any of your guests who are elderly or disabled. Driver's hat and white gloves are optional!
Yes, someone is onsite during your event. Our staff or a security guard will be present to assist with venue related questions about the grounds or policies.
Yes! and the curtains in the big barn doors are there too.
The rented buildings and surrounding grounds are available from 9am-11pm for our Friday and Saturday events. Setup time can start as early as 9am and takedown must be complete by 11:30pm. Guests may arrive as early as 1pm and fully vacate by 11pm.
Permitting requires that all vehicles must be removed from the property by the end of the event.
Our policy is that everything must be removed from the barn, brides room, ceremony area and anywhere else on the farm by the end of the night so we may clean, however sometimes that can be difficult. We can store your items in our lower barn till Sunday for you to come back and retrieve anytime between the hours of 10:00 - 2:00 pm. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Yes! We have beautiful new indoor restrooms for both men and women. These are located next to the bar, just below the loft.
Yes. We have both heat and air conditioning.
Yes! The old milk room has been transformed into a bridal room that is split into two sections. One section is a private area where the bride can change and get ready. The other is a place where the bride and her friends can hang out and relax before the ceremony.
Additionally, we two rooms for both wedding parties. The bridal room is stunning with all of the white furniture and floor-to-ceiling picture frame mirror.
The groomsman won't be disappointed as their room has a massage chair and leather sectional for maximum relaxation.
There are two gorgeous areas to pick from on the farm for your ceremony. You can be married on the Hill or inside the barn.
DJ's can provide a portable sound system on the hill so that your guests can enjoy hearing your exchange of vows and any music you may have. Electricity is available for their equipment.
Our brides' favorite amenities at Dellwood Barn is our rental company. We have hundreds of items to choose from. Make the the setting your own with no decoration cleanup required! If you are interested in seeing what we offer we will provide you with a rental catalog.
We love when couples decorate the barn, however w do have some limitations. Open flames candles, confetti, rice, fireworks, hay/straw bales or glitter are not permitted.

You are responsible to book and pay for your vendors to service and decorate your event. Day of rental includes tables and chairs for up to 240 guests, chairs for ceremony, security, clean up crew, firewood unlimited, dessert table, gift table, light strands in the ceiling, curtains in the big barn doors, picture frames behind the head table, DJ table, brides & grooms room. We require each event to acquire event insurance. There is a $400 damage deposit which will be returned unless there is excessive clean up or damage. You also have the option to rent any additional decorations and games from our extensive rental room.
All bakery goods including cakes, deserts, cookies, and others must be from a licensed bakery/facility. No homemade items will be allowed in accordance with the State of Minnesota Health Department.
We have a list of preferred vendors on our website. DBW does have a preferred catering list because we do not have a kitchen or water service for prepping food. Our vendors are not exclusive, but they are familiar with the environment on our property.
A 12% fee applies to all catering services. If you choose to explore a caterer whom is not on the preferred list there is an additional $200.00 fee to cover the the approval process.
All alcohol and non-alcohol beverage service for your event will be served only by DBW. Please inquire about liquor packages. They will meet everyone's need's for your special day.
Music provided by the DJ is permitted on the hill during the ceremony. Music can also be played inside the barn when the doors are closed. Music ends at 10:30 pm.
All clients must carry insurance to cover their event. It is called 'Special Event Policy'.
Our farm is smoke-free for the safety of our buildings. We do have a designated smoking area down at our Fire Pit. This is the only permitted area for people to smoke.
All events will require an off-duty uniformed police offer from the hours of 7:15-11:15 pm. This security officer will be provided by DBW.
The wedding will carry on, rain or shine. Ceremony chairs will be set up on the hill overlooking the farm. In the event of rain do not fret because we have a backup plan! The bride may wait out the rain in the red barn with guests, or can choose to have the wedding inside the red barn.
Your engagement pictures are included in your venue fee.
We are available for weekday events on Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
We do not charge a cake-cutting fee.
No, we do not. Please use your car for any valuables. We suggest right after dinner to pull your car up to the front of the barn and load up your gifts and cards.
In addition to our historic farm, you could go to White Bear Lake or Down Town Stillwater to the river area. You can also call the Stillwater Trolley company to pick you up and return you for a awesome ride to. We feel there is plenty of places on our farm.
